Judith Millar

 

Judith Millar is an award-winning writer of short stories, essays, poems and song lyrics. She was awarded the 2009 John Kenneth Galbraith Literary Award in October 2009. (For other awards, see "Writing for Adults.") She is based in Nanaimo, B.C., Canada.

 

Judy writes both serious and humorous material for adults (read some humour at her blog, MillarLITE). She also writes for children (see song lyrics at RONNOsong). She has earned awards for her writing in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.  

 She is currently at work on a novel and a collection of short stories for adults. She is also in demand as a spoken-word performer.

 Judith is a member of the Federation of BC Writers, the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), The Word Guild and the Nanaimo Arts CouncilShe also enjoys serving on the crew of WordStorm, Nanaimo’s popular spoken-word event. A former corporate communications manager in Waterloo, Ontario, she moved to beautiful Vancouver Island in 2007.
